Brow Ptosis
Brow ptosis occurs when the eyebrow drops below the orbital rim. Brow ptosis repair aims to return the brow to its anatomical position along the orbital rim. Several methods exist to repair brow ptosis including direct brow lift, forehead lift (for those with mild to moderate brow ptosis) and browpexy (to stabilize brow descent). Some of these procedures are often combined with upper blepharoplasty or blepharoptosis repair and can utilize the same incision. Procedures to repair the effects of brow ptosis may be covered by insurance if the patient’s visual field is impacted or if skin or eye irritation occurs due to the malposition of the brow.
