Are You a LASIK Candidate?

LASIK vision correction is the most common type of refractive eye procedure. Some patients are not ideal candidates due to their specific eye anatomy or other factors. In order to determine your eligibility for LASIK, the eye care professionals at Triad Eye Institute will perform a complete screening of your eyes.

If it is determined that LASIK may be right for you, a Patient Counselor will work with you to determine a surgery date and answer any questions you may have about the procedure. Our skilled surgeons and caring staff are dedicated to ensuring your safety, comfort and complete satisfaction.

Can I Have LASIK Vision Correction?

Some factors that may limit a person’s eligibility for LASIK include:

  • Your vision must be stable, infection-free and injury-free for one year prior to surgery
  • You must not have a history of severe dry eye syndrome, herpes eye infections, cornea scarring or an autoimmune disorder, such as Lupus or Sjogren’s Syndrome.
  • You cannot be pregnant or nursing on the day of surgery.
  • Thin corneas, irregular topography or significant deficiency may make a patient ineligible for LASIK. Our skilled team will examine your eyes to determine if you’re an ideal candidate.
